Students who will soon be first graders at Hamilton Heights Elementary School are getting a boost in reading and social-emotional learning through its JumpStart program.

The highly successful summer literacy program provides for a maximum of 30 students to participate in this interactive summer experience to help get their school year off to a great start. The program takes place three hours daily for 10 days prior to the start of the school on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

The program is made possible, in part, through a generous contribution from Duke Energy.
