Indy Shorts International Film Festival features two films made in Noblesville

“Toboggan ‘Bout Town,” “The Supper Club” get spotlight at six-day event

The Academy Award-qualifying Indy Shorts International Film Festival is taking place July 19-24. This year’s theme is “The Greatest Shorts on Earth.” Screenings will be held at Living Room Theaters (indoors), Newfields (indoors and amphitheater), the Indianapolis Art Center (outdoors) and virtually.

Toboggan ‘Bout Town

  • Directed by Rocky Walls
  • Program: Indiana Spotlight 1
  • Screening: 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 at The Toby Theater at Newfields, 4000 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis
  • About the film: Three years ago, Noblesville resident Geoff Davis organized a community toboggan build at the local library. A hundred people joined in to create two traditional American toboggans. That day a dream was born: to build a toboggan and then represent his Indiana community at the Toboggan National Championships in Maine.

The Supper Club

  • Directed by David Neidert
  • Program: Indiana Spotlight 2
  • Screening: 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 at The Toby Theater at Newfields, 4000 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis
  • About the film: The menus were printed. The space was ready. The date was set. Then the world shut down. This is a story of heartbreak, adaptation, and great food.
