Gerald “Jerry” Graham

September 27, 1945 – June 15, 2022

Gerald “Jerry” Graham, 76, Noblesville, passed away on June 15, 2022, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Jerry was born on September 27, 1945, to Delmar and Mildred Graham in Valparaiso. After graduating from Valparaiso High School in 1963, he went on to study Accounting at Indiana University. It was there he met the love of his life, Mary Margaret Light, and they wed on January 20, 1968.

After graduation, he entered the United States Army and served four years in Vietnam and Germany.  Living abroad was some of the most special times for the young couple and started their lifelong love of travel.

Upon returning to the states, Jerry worked at a CPA firm in Elkhart, Ind., and their two daughters were born, Jennifer and Christine. In 1974, Jerry landed a job at Forward Air and moved his young family to Indianapolis. In 1976, Jerry took a job as Controller for Clancy’s Inc. and moved his family to Noblesville, where their son Michael was born in 1979.

Jerry went on to work for Clancy’s for 45 years becoming the Vice President of Finance and enjoyed lending his support to the Noblesville community. Over the years, he was involved with Kiwanis, Lions, various Noblesville Schools and Sports committees and was a member and active volunteer with First United Methodist Church.

Jerry was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams – the Noblesville Millers, Indiana Hoosiers, Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs.  In 1991, he and Margaret were named Miller Basketball Fans of the Year. He was a pretty good bowler and an impressive golfer, and for the past several years, most days you could find him enjoying a round of 18 with friends.

He was a supportive husband, father and friend and will be missed by all.

Jerry was preceded in death by Delmar Graham and Mildred Peterman Graham. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Sandy) Graham; sister, Linda Graham; his wife, Mary Margaret Light Graham; children, Jennifer Upton, Christine (Chandler) Helmuth, Michael (Lindsey) Graham and five grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Noblesville First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument St. The calling will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the service following at noon in the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lions Club of Noblesville, First United Methodist Church of Noblesville, or HandsOn Greater Phoenix.
