Martha Jane Henricks, 86, Arcadia, died on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at home.
She was born October 23, 1935, in Indianapolis to Ralph and Dortha (Myers) Lockhart. She attended Carmel schools and graduated from Carmel High School with the Class of 1954.
Mrs. Henricks worked for many years in the dry cleaning business. During retirement years she enjoyed reading, bird watching, tending her flowers, and spending time with her family. No matter the circumstances, she never missed a chance to use her favorite saying, “It’s good for ya.”
When she was able, she attended the Atlanta Christian Church.
Surviving her is a son, Michael (LeAnn) Henricks of Arcadia; daughters, Terri (Gary) Burke of Anderson, Kim Ballard of Arcadia, Stephanie Gruben of Arcadia, and a stepdaughter, Sheryl (Jimmy) Austin of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Jason Cox, Chad Cox, Tiffany Coffman, Shawna Austin, Jordan Austin, Bradley Austin, and Logan Gruben; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with Pastor Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Gray Friends Cemetery near Carmel. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services.
