Westfield was swept by Zionsville Saturday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference doubleheader at the Shamrocks’ field.
Westfield dropped the first game 6-1. The ‘Rocks scored their run in the seventh inning when Mac Clarke got home on Keaton Mahan’s RBI groundout. Maximus Webster was 3-for-4 at the plate, while Evan Russ hit a double. Gage Stanifer pitched five innings, striking out eight.
The Eagles edged out Westfield 3-2 in the second game. The Shamrocks scored both of their runs in the sixth inning. Trey Dorton singled in Mahan, then Collin Lindsey got home on a wild pitch. Mac Clarke had two hits, including a double.
Westfield is 5-5 in HCC play and 11-6 overall. The ‘Rocks host Columbus North on Tuesday.
