The Westfield baseball team took down new Class 4A No. 1 Center Grove Monday at the Trojans’ field.
The Shamrocks got on the board in the second inning when Trey Dorton hit a solo home run. Maximus Webster batted in two runs in the third inning, then was singled home by Collin Lindsey, who also hit a fifth-inning homer.
Jacob Culot pitched four innings for the win, striking out six.
“Jacob Culp gave us a good start in a big game,” said Westfield coach Ryan Bunnell. “He was electric at times and really stepped up on a big stage tonight.”
