Humane Society for Hamilton County’s 14th ‘Wine, Wags & Whiskers’ fundraiser set for May 5

The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) will kick off May with the 14th annual Wine, Wags & Whiskers fundraiser on Thursday, May 5 at the Embassy Suites in Noblesville.

The evening – which lands on Cinco de Mayo – features delicious Mexican and American hors d’oeuvres, a bourbon and spirits pull, beer, wine and bourbon tastings, tempting sweets from Nothing Bundt Cakes, a silent auction with over 100 unique items and “pawsome” jewelry from Hupp Jewelers. Adoptable dogs and cats will also be in attendance.

Wine, Wags & Whiskers is a critical fundraising event supporting the shelter’s daily operation.

“2021 was a record-breaking year for us – not only did we have more adoptions than ever, but we also saw an increase in animals surrendered to us and in those rescued from outside the county,” said HSHC Training and Communications Director Megan Davis. “The critical funds raised at this event have a direct impact on the animals coming through our doors each day. You will have an incredible time at this year’s event, all while giving animals in need the chance to live, love and be loved.”

Admission tickets are $85 in advance and $95 at the door. Table sponsorships are available starting at $750 for a half table seating four guests or $1,500 for a full table seating eight guests. Visit WineWagsandWhiskers.com for more information and to purchase tickets. Attendees must be 21 or older for admission and to purchase tickets.

Wine, Wags & Whiskers is graciously sponsored by Vine & Table, RNDC, Brown-Forman, Centier Bank, Curran Architecture, Current Publishing, Four Day Ray, VCA Animal Hospitals, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Lake City Bank and Furtography.

About the Humane Society for Hamilton County

The mission of the Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) is “Saving Lives. Educating Communities. Completing Families.” HSHC serves as both the animal control facility and Humane Society for Hamilton County, and as such, receives partial funding (approximately 22 percent) from Hamilton County to fund the first seven days of an animal’s basic care.

The majority of HSHC’s annual operating budget is funded by individual donations and its three annual fundraising events: Wine, Wags & Whiskers, Woofstock, and Tinsel & Tails. HSHC is one of the only open-admission, truly “no-kill” organizations in the United States in that it does not euthanize animals for time, space, treatable injuries, illnesses or rehabilitatable behavior issues regardless of age, breed, disability or special needs.

HSHC also serves the community with a variety of unique programs like the Survivor Program (which funds the medical care and the rescue of over 1,000 animals at risk for euthanasia in other Indiana shelters this year) and Pets Healing Vets (PetsHealingVets.com), which pairs Hoosier veterans suffering from PTSD/TBI with emotional support pets at no cost to the veteran.

HSHC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. It is not a United Way Agency and is not affiliated with any other animal welfare group in the United States. For more information visit HamiltonHumane.com.
