Guerin Catholic finished Circle City Conference play on a winning note Tuesday, beating Roncalli 64-53 in the Golden Eagles’ CCC and home season-finale at the Eagles Nest.
Guerin Catholic outscored the Royals in each of the four quarters, leading 18-15 after one period and 30-22 at halftime. The Golden Eagles continued to build their lead in the third period, finishing the quarter up 46-36. Guerin led Roncalli 60-44 late in the fourth quarter for its largest advantage of the game.
Four Golden Eagles players reached double figures. Will Grissom led with 14 points, followed by Kamea Chandler with 12. Robert Sorensen and Aden Cannon both added 10 points. Ty Sanders led the rebounds with eight.
Guerin Catholic finished conference play 3-2 and is currently tied for second place in the league with Bishop Chatard. Brebeuf Jesuit is 2-1 in the conference with two more games to play.
The Golden Eagles travel to University on Friday for an all-county game.
