Noblesville resident Lindsey Kotynski Garrigus, MA, LMHCA, Therapist has been hired by ThrivePointe to provide counseling services to both children and adults. She provides individual, family, adult, child, and adolescent therapy, in office or online.
Garrigus says her goal is to help her clients thrive.
“My approach to therapy is always to meet clients where they are at,” she said. “Going to counseling for the first time can be intimidating and I hope to create a safe and engaging environment where each client feels accepted, heard, and seen. My goal is to work together to find ways to help clients thrive and be the best they can be. I enjoy helping clients find and value their strengths, which can aid in managing stress and trauma.”
Garrigus continued, “I am gentle, kind, accepting, empathetic, and patient with my clients. My desire is to be a consistent person who can sit with clients in their grief, frustration, and stress and to help them find a way back to joy. My heart is to work with women, children, and families. I work from a CBT lens of therapy, meaning I believe that how we think affects our behavior and emotions. I also practice from a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on each aspect of the client. The mind, body, and spirit are all connected and are therefore all addressed in sessions with clients.”
When it comes to what she values the most about being a therapist, Garrigus said, “I love being a counselor because I feel honored every time someone trusts me with their story and privileged to be the one to help them find peace and meaning from it. I love being able to give children and adults a safe place to just be. There are way too many pressures in this world, and I hope to be a safe haven where stories are held, feelings are validated, and beliefs are valued. I enjoy helping clients grow and thrive into who God has called them to be. I believe in helping people see the beauty in what feels like a mess and finding hope again.”
Garrigus specializes in the following: adoption counseling, ADHD, anger, anxiety, assertiveness and confidence, attachment insecurity, blended families, burnout, career goals, child behavior/defiance, communication skills, conflict management, depression, divorce recovery, emotional intelligence, impulse control, organization, parenting, stress management, time management, and trauma.
