Greyhounds boys stay perfect in MIC

Carmel kept its Metropolitan Conference record perfect on Friday, as the Greyhounds took care of Pike 64-48 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
Carmel, ranked No. 1 in the IBCA one-class poll and No. 2 in the Associated Press Class 4A rankings, steadily built a lead over the first three quarters over the IBCA No. 15 Red Devils. The ‘Hounds led 16-12 after one period and 35-25 at halftime, then used a solid defensive effort to hold Pike to seven points in the third. Carmel led 48-32 after three periods.
Four players reached double figures for the Greyhounds. Jared Bonds led the way with 15 points, followed by Peter Suder and Sam Orme with 14 points each. Charlie Williams chipped in 10 points. Those four players were also the leading rebounders, with Suder collecting nine and Bonds, Orme and Williams each pulling six. Josh Whack dished out four assists.
Carmel is 4-0 in MIC play and 11-3 overall. The Greyhounds play at Brownsburg tonight.
