Sheridan’s Roland Wallace was inducted into the Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame Saturday, prior to the Blackhawks’ boys basketball game.
Wallace played at Sheridan High School for renowned coach Larry Hobbs. In his three seasons on the varsity team from 1949 to 1952, the Blackhawks won 66 and lost only 15 games. With his leadership, during Wallace’s junior and senior years, Sheridan never lost a conference game, a holiday tournament game, a county game, or a sectional game.
Following high school, Wallace received a partial scholarship to Tulane University. After two years there, he finished his education at Ball State University and served in the United States Army.
