‘Hawks drop close game to Warriors

Sheridan dropped a tough game to Covenant Christian 47-43 Thursday at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Warriors outscored the Blackhawks in the first three quarters, leading 14-8 after one and 27-17 at halftime. Sheridan trailed 38-26 after three periods, but went on a fourth-quarter run, with Kenzie Garner scoring seven points during that period. Garner also had seven in the third quarter as well. But Sheridan’s comeback fell just short.
Garner finished with a double-double, scoring 22 points and pulling 10 rebounds. Garner made four 3-pointers for the ‘Hawks. Cecilia Timme also had a strong game, with 11 rebounds to go with nine points. Berkley Williams had seven rebounds and Taylor Bates collected five.
Sheridan is 1-2 and hosts Elwood on Saturday. The game tips off at noon and is varsity only.
