The Noblesville boys soccer team cruised to another win on Saturday, as the Class 3A No. 1 Millers beat 3A No. 8 North Central 7-1 at the Panthers’ field.
Noblesville got on the board right away, with Kyle Goad scoring the Millers’ first goal in the third minute. Noblesville would put four goals in the net during the first half: Palmer Ault scored the second one, with Andy Stansfield and Brayden Doll making the assist. Sammy Holland added a goal off a Goad assist, then Landon Huber scored late in the half. It was the first varsity goal for both Holland and Huber.
The Millers added three more goals in the second half. Matthew Morris scored in the 42nd minute to put Noblesville up 5-0. North Central got its lone goal in the 54th minute, but the Millers answered later when Luke Smith and Miles Tucker both put in their first varsity goals. Noel Peña made his first varsity appearance as goalkeeper and delivered a clean sheet during his time on the field.
“Today was a great game,” said Huber. “It really showed the depth of our bench. Everyone got to play and get some experience. Everyone really stepped up.”
Noblesville is now 6-0 for the season and travels to Fishers on Tuesday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
Fishers, ranked No. 3 in 3A, also cruised to a non-conference win Saturday morning by beating McCutcheon 4-0 in a home game.
The Tigers scored two goals in each of the two halves. Charlie Stump, Caleb Hernandez, Noah Reinhart and Andres Carabano each put one goal in the net. Reinhart, Tyler March and Sam Hevesy each made one assist.
Fishers improved to 4-0 with the win.
University, the No. 12 team in 1A, sailed to a 6-1 Pioneer Conference victory over Muncie Burris on Saturday.
Remy Lance scored four goals for the Trailblazers. Jake Malinzak and Andrew Dickerson each had one goal.
University improved to 3-0 on the PAAC and 5-0-1 overall. The ‘Blazers host Park Tudor on Tuesday.
Guerin Catholic, Class 2A’s top-ranked team, scored a 2-0 Circle City Conference victory over Brebeuf Jesuit Saturday in the first game of a boys-girls doubleheader at the Golden Eagles’ field.
Aiden Soucie and Tommy Hartman each scored one for Guerin Catholic, which stayed unbeaten in CCC play at 2-0.
The Golden Eagles are 3-0 overall and play at Noblesville on Thursday.
Hamilton Southeastern, the No. 4 team in 3A, cruised to a 3-0 Hoosier Crossroads Conference win at Franklin Central on Saturday.
The Royals are 2-0 in the conference and 4-0-1 overall. They will play another HCC game Tuesday at Avon.
