Governor Eric Holcomb has announced that he has appointed Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen to the Indiana Task Force on Wastewater Infrastructure Investment and Service to Underserved Areas.

“I appreciate Gov. Holcomb asking me to help take a regional, holistic view of this far-reaching issue facing Hoosiers,” Jensen said. “I look forward to working with others on the task force and our Indiana legislators to improve water quality throughout the state.”
The task force will study the maintenance and life cycle management of wastewater management systems, the adequacy of funding for the maintenance, existing policies regulating wastewater management systems, the value of improved wastewater infrastructure as it relates to economic development, difficulties in connecting unserved properties to sanitary sewer systems, and financing options for extending wastewater service into rural or underserved areas. When completed, the task force will submit a report to Holcomb and members of the Indiana General Assembly.
In addition to Jensen, the five other governor appointments to the new task force include: Bedford Mayor Sam Craig, Director of Carmel Utilities John Duffy, Alliance of Indiana Rural Water Executive Director Connie Stevens (Franklin), Wessler Engineering CEO Marty Wessler (Indianapolis) and Cris Johnston (Indianapolis), director of the Office of Management & Budget. They will be joined by six members of the Indiana State Senate and six members of the Indiana House of Representatives.
The Task Force on Wastewater Infrastructure Investment and Service to Underserved Areas will serve until Dec. 31, 2021.
