It’s been a busy week for the Guerin Catholic girls golf team, but it’s also been a very successful one.
The Golden Eagles won their third tournament in as many days on Wednesday, triumphing at their own Guerin Catholic Invitational at Pebble Brook. GC put together a team score of 333, with Brebeuf Jesuit the runner-up by scoring 341.
Christina Pfefferkorn was the meet medalist with a 70, continuing her personal streak: Pfefferkorn has been the individual medalist in all three of Guerin’s victories. Audrey Kunce scored an 84 to take third place individually.
The Golden Eagles’ early win streak becomes more impressive when one notes that their team score has dropped significantly since the start. Guerin Catholic scored a 360 on Monday while winning the Cathedral Irish Invitational, then a 344 during a Tuesday victory at the Lafayette Jefferson Booster Invitational
“The trend’s in the right direction,” said GC coach Mark Mathews. “With the exception of Christina, most of the girls still have some things they can improve on, for sure. We’ll get better and better as the season unfolds and we’re just looking forward to working towards that number we need for sectionals. That’s our biggest goal.”

Team scores: Guerin Catholic 333, Brebeuf Jesuit 341, Bishop Dwenger 374, Cathedral 386, Bishop Chatard 398, Guerin Catholic second team 466, Cardinal Ritter 479.
Medalist: Christina Pfefferkorn (GC) 70.
Other Guerin Catholic scores: Audrey Kunce 84, Izzy Pinion 87, Jenny Zerla 92, Sarah Rigg 104.
Guerin Catholic second team scores: Grace Cates 98, Gracie Navarro 117, Avery Wall 122, Maris Bulger 129, Addison Rogers 131.

Westfield had another impressive result Wednesday, as the Shamrocks won the Seymour Invitational at Shadowood Golf Club.
Second-ranked Westfield scored a 300 to collect its second tournament win of the season. Sam Brown led the way with a four-under par 69, earning her medalist honors for the second time in three days. Brown has finished under par in all three of her tournament rounds this season.
Sophie McGinnis carded a one under par 72 for the individual runner-up spot. Brette Hanavan made a 50-foot eagle putt on her way to a 77, giving her a top-five finish. Freshman Addi Kooi scored an 82 and Allie McKeown added an 83.
The Shamrocks also had a second team play at Shadowood, and that squad was the runner-up with a 342. Claire Thompson led with an 83, followed by Mallory Mortl 85, Sam Lemieux 85, Sophie Thompson 89 (a personal best) and Sadie Edwards 93.
