Spartz: “Agriculture is a significant contributor to real wealth and real GDP in Indiana”
Congresswoman Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.-05), along with Indiana Farm Bureau representatives, recently visited with farmers and agribusiness professionals from the Fifth District. The discussion centered on concerns about proposed tax increases by the Biden Administration, trade issues, environmental and conservation regulations, as well as federal and state initiatives underway to improve broadband access in rural communities.
“As a farmer, I greatly appreciate the hard work of our farmers to feed our nation,” Spartz said. “I also understand the real GDP value of agriculture in our state and country and how tax increases would impact small family farms. Proposals by the Biden Administration to raise taxes would lead to future consolidation in the industry as has happened in other sectors. I appreciate Indiana Farm Bureau members taking time to meet with me to discuss their challenges and opportunities.”
Congresswoman Spartz provided an update on her work to advance rural broadband and expanded access to the U.S. 31 corridor for rural communities.

Victoria Spartz for meeting with INFB members at Stafford Farms in Tipton County,” said INFB President Randy Kron. “It was nice to hold an in-person roundtable, which provided an opportunity for INFB members to discuss important issues impacting Hoosier agriculture.”
Stafford Farms is a fourth-generation farming operation that produces corn, soybeans, wheat, contract seed corn, and contract seed beans across four Indiana counties. They also run a hog operation at their Tipton location.
