Golden Eagles golf wins Lafayette Jeff Booster

The Guerin Catholic boys golf team won the Lafayette Jefferson Booster tournament Saturday at Battle Ground Golf Course.
The No. 1-ranked Golden Eagles totaled a 289 and had three of the top five individuals, led by medalist Leo Wessel with a 69. Andrew White and Jacob Modleski both carded 73s, tying for third place.
Christian Hein’s 74 and Ben Burgan’s 80 rounded out the GC scoring.
Carmel placed second with a 304. Patrick Michael led the No. 2-ranked Greyhounds with a 74, followed by Sam Booth 76, Shoji Fujita 76, Owen Sander 78 and Joe Armfield 80.
Carmel also had a junior varsity team play, and it scored a 324. Daniel Montgomery led with a 79, followed by Sahaas Kanaru 81, Kevin Fujita 82, Ryan Jones 82 and Austin Kent 86.
Westfield finished third as a team by scoring 307. Alec Cesare was the No. 8-ranked Shamrocks’ low man with a 74, followed by Hunter Cook 76, Colin Nixon 77, Nolan Hall 80 and Timmy Leonard 80.
