Girls lacrosse sectionals: Millers, Royals, ‘Hounds advance to finals

The Noblesville and Hamilton Southeastern girls lacrosse teams advanced to the Sectional 6 championship game after winning semi-final games on Thursday at the Millers’ Beaver Materials Field.
Noblesville beat Fishers 19-0 in the first game. Twelve different Millers players scored goals, with Emma Potter getting three goals, three assists, five draw controls and five ground balls. Potter set the single-season record for goals scored and ground balls.
Rheagan Haney and Chloe Barnett both scored three goals as well. Meagan Wernke and Maya Hill both added two goals and Isabel Imes, Sidney Klinger, Emma Hammond, Nataley Blackburn and Marisha Woehler each had one goal.
Brooke Millers handed out two assists, with one each for Mallory Miller, Hammond and Blackburn. Mallory Miller also had six ground balls and four forced turnovers. Adi Terry made three saves with Maddie Reel getting one save.
In the second game, Hamilton Southeastern beat Guerin Catholic 16-11. Ellie Nawa and Chloe Szot both had four goals for the Royals, with Caitlin Carter adding three. Samantha Borgert scored two goals, and Jenna Jenkins, Delaney Mullin and Olivia Schenck all scored one. Nawa and Szot both dished out two assists, with Borgert, Carter and Jenkins all handing out one.
Schenck had seven draw controls and Nawa had five. Stella Fisher led the defense with six ground balls, followed by Borgert, Schena and Schenck with four each. Schenck also had three forced turnovers.
Carly Wilson led the Golden Eagles with four goals, while Claire Alic scored two. Sophie Adolay, Ella Bellflower, Grace Klee, Caroline Kosiba and Alexandra Soucie all scored one. Bellflower, Kosiba and Soucie also had one assist each. Bellflower had 11 draw controls and three ground balls; Alic, Soucie and Wilson each collected three ground balls as well. Kylie Crisci and Wilson both had two forced turnovers.
The Millers and the Royals will play each other Tuesday night for the Sectional 6 title.
Over at Sectional 5, Carmel beat Culver Academies 17-2 Thursday at Murray Stadium to advance to the championship game. Anna Dumke had three goals and four assists, while Hannah Kim added four goals and one assist. Julia Cherubini scored three goals, Maddie McGarty and Tori Tomalia both had two and Sophia Hanna, Sarah Canaley and Lauren Lee each scored one. Cherubini and Reagan Fahey both had one assist.
The Greyhounds will host Penn at 6 p.m. Tuesday for the Sectional 5 championship.
