Today marks one year since Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Breann Leath was killed in the line of duty. Leath was shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call at an Indianapolis east-side apartment complex.

Recently, members of the Carmel Police Department honored Leath’s legacy by presenting her son, three-year-old Zayn, with an Easter basket full of goodies.

The Easter basket was presented to Zayn by Officer Shelby Jellison.  Jellison and Zayn became friends after a happenstance meeting in a local Carmel smoothie shop. Their friendship has since garnered the attention of media outlets throughout the nation, as well as going viral on several social media outlets.
