Sheridan cruised past Monrovia 63-29 in a Wednesday away game that was the regular-season finale for the Blackhawks.
Sheridan outscored the Bulldogs in each of the four quarters, leading 19-6 after one period and 32-16 at halftime. The ‘Hawks then had a solid defensive effort in the third quarter, allowing Monrovia only two points. Sheridan led 43-18 after three.
Lillie Dickerson scored 27 points and tied the school record for most 3-pointers made in a game by hitting eight triples. Allie Delph added 11 points and Emma Went scored 10.
The Blackhawks’ Friday game with Taylor is canceled, according to the Sheridan athletics website, thus the ‘Hawks finish the regular season with a 10-4 record, 5-2 in Hoosier Heartland Conference play. Sheridan is next in action on Friday, Feb. 5 at Class 2A Sectional 38 at Fountain Central; the ‘Hawks received the by and will play the winner of Tuesday’s game between Seeger and Fountain Central.
