On Jan. 19, the Carmel Police Department welcomed its four newest officers.
Officers Jacob DeSchepper, Crystal Froelich, Darby Morris, and Christian Wilhite started their careers with a swearing-in ceremony at CPD headquarters. All four officers are already certified law enforcement officers and have previous law enforcement experience. They will spend the next several months in orientation and field training.
Officer Jacob DeSchepper comes to CPD from the private sector. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Indianapolis. While he attended the University of Indianapolis, he graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and worked as a police officer for the University of Indianapolis Police Department.
Officer Crystal Froelich comes to CPD from the Indiana University Police Department. She has two years of police experience. She earned an associate degree in social work from Vincennes University and a bachelor’s degree in general studies from IUPUI. While she attended IUPUI, she graduated from the Indiana University Police Academy and worked as a police officer for the Indiana University Police Department. After graduating from IUPUI, she was hired as a full-time police officer by the Indiana University Police Department. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public safety and criminal justice from IUPUI.
Officer Darby Morris comes to CPD from the Indiana University Police Department. She earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from IUPUI. While she attended IUPUI, she graduated from the Indiana University Police Academy and worked as a police officer for the Indiana University Police Department.
Officer Christian Wilhite comes to CPD from the Henderson, Ky., Police Department. He has four years of police experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice from Indiana State University.
