With one week to go before sectionals, a handful of Hamilton County cross country teams traveled to the course where they hope to run at the end of the month.
Fishers, Noblesville and the Carmel boys competed at the Twilight Meet Saturday evening at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute. In the boys meet, the Greyhounds finished in second place by one point, with Center Grove edging them out 61-62.
Carmel did claim the individual winner, as Kole Mathison paced the field in a time of 15:18.6. Charlie Schulman also landed in the top 10 for the ‘Hounds placing seventh.
The Tigers took third with 90 points, also getting two top-10 runners. Will Clark finished fifth and Jaylen Castillo took eighth. Noblesville finished sixth as a team with 180 points; Asher Propst led the Millers by placing 15th.
In the girls meet, Fishers finished sixth with a score of 159 points. Anna Runion and Vera Schafer placed 14th and 15th respectively for the Tigers. Noblesville scored 296 points to finish 11th as a team, with Sophie Stahl placing 47th.

Hamilton Heights competed in the Hoosier Conference championship Saturday at Rensselaer Central.
In the girls meet, Maria Mitchell claimed the individual title, clocking in with a time of 18:33.9. The Huskies finished fourth as a team with 109 points.
The Heights boys also took fourth, scoring 139 points. Preston Miller led the Huskies by placing 19th.
