Guests from across the nation will join together at the 33-acre Lucas Estate in Carmel today, Oct. 3, to celebrate “An All-American Evening Under the Stars” fundraising event with country music superstar John Rich, Indiana performing favorites Hunter & Girton, and special guest speaker Rocky Sickmann, POW and USMC Veteran – sponsored by Red Gold, Folds of Honor and Budweiser.
On behalf of the Folds of Honor organization, the evening’s featured speaker, Rocky Sickman, will tell the harrowing story of his experience of when he was taken captive by Iranian militants in 1979 and held hostage for 444 days during what became known around the world as the “Iran Hostage Crisis.” Sickman is also the author of the bestselling Iranian Hostage: A Personal Diary of 444 Days in Captivity.
Supported in part by donations from nationwide retail sales of Red Gold’s special edition Folds of Honor Ketchup, the Folds of Honor organization works to support the families of our fallen military. During the evening’s event, the Indiana Chapter of Folds of Honor will place a spotlight on the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of our fallen military heroes and raise money and awareness for their mission.
Along with a live and silent auction, the “All-American Evening Under the Stars” event will feature the major national launch of a true American original, the brand-new Redneck Riviera 1776 BBQ Sauce, in both Original and Spicy varieties. Both are locally-sourced and made by Red Gold, a company founded in 1942 in an effort to feed U.S. troops during World War II. Today, Red Gold works with more than 40 Midwestern family farms to further their mission to produce the world’s freshest, best-tasting tomato products.
Redneck Riviera is the highly successful lifestyle brand founded by the night’s featured performer, John Rich, the multi-platinum singer/songwriter, TV host, one half of the super duo Big & Rich and is behind the current No. 1 song in America, “Earth to God.”
“I partnered with Red Gold because they are the best at what they do and they’re the real deal,” Rich said. “When I found out they were American-owned, grown and made, I knew it was the perfect fit. Heck, even the bottles themselves are made right here in Indiana. I want everyone to know and understand just how damn good a real All-American BBQ sauce can be when you use real ingredients like tomato puree, sugar, and apple cider vinegar – there are no fillers in this sauce. You’ve never tasted BBQ sauce like this before and I just can’t wait for everyone to try it!”
Red Gold and Rich first came together just last year through their shared belief in supporting the Folds of Honor mission. Colt Reichart, Director of Marketing and fourth-generation family ownership of Red Gold added, “Since our business was born out of the need to serve our country more than 75 years ago, giving back to those in need is built into the DNA of who we are at Red Gold and that made the Folds of Honor mission a natural fit for us. We expect the Red Gold Folds of Honor ‘Ketchup with a Cause’ and our new partnership with Redneck Riviera and John Rich to inspire more retailers, consumers, and foodservice operators to join our cause and help support those veteran families in need.”
Together, these new condiments will be sold nationally and spotlight The Folds of Honor Foundation.
