The Sheridan volleyball team had a successful day at the Indiana School for the Deaf tournament Saturday, winning two of three matches.
In their first match, the Blackhawks beat ISD 25-15, 25-12, picking up their first victory of the season. Abbi Clouser served four aces, while Allie Delph and Jacquellynne Bates both hit five kills. Lille Dickerson contributed four kills and one block. Taylor Bates dished out 11 assists and Emma Went collected four digs.
Sheridan’s next opponent was Eastern Hancock, and the ‘Hawks won in three sets, 20-25, 25-15, 15-13. Delph had a dominant game with 11 kills, six aces and two blocks. Taylor Bates added 16 assists, seven kills and two blocks. Dickerson made three blocks and Went had seven digs.
In its final match of the day, Sheridan fell to Southwestern Shelby in three sets 10-25, 25-23, 15-9. Clouser made five digs and served three aces. Taylor Bates handed out 13 assists to go with three aces and one block, with Kaiden Wilson making one block. Went had 10 digs, Delph hit six kills and Jacquellynne Bates had five kills.
The Blackhawks host Park Tudor on Monday.
