The Hamilton Heights boys tennis team won the New Castle Tournament championship on Saturday.
The Huskies beat the Trojans 3-2 in the championship match. No. 1 singles Ben Wolfgang won a 10-7 third-set super tiebreak to clinch the title.
In the morning match, Heights beat Northeastern 5-0. Wolfgang was a 6-4, 7-5 winner, with No. 2 Nick Rice and No. 3 Eric Malott also winning singles matches. The doubles teams of No. 1 Josh Russell and Jake Martin and No. 2 Colin Weber and Grant Cavanaugh were winners as well.
Guerin Catholic won two duals Saturday morning at Covenant Christian.
The Golden Eagles first beat Northwestern 5-0, then defeated the Warriors 4-1 for a Circle City Conference victory. Max Fuller stepped into the No. 1 singles spot and won both of his matches in straight sets, as did No. 2 singles Ty Harrington and No. 3 singles Jak Kolb.
In doubles, the No. 1 team of Zach Thieme and John Tiplick split their matches, beating Northwestern and falling to Covenant. No. 2 doubles Bradley Getts and Thomas Darland swept their matches.
Fishers swept Park Tudor 5-0 in a Saturday morning dual meet.
The Tigers host Noblesville on Tuesday.
