The Westfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced the selection of Steve Latour as the new Executive Director, effective Sept. 8.

Latour

After a comprehensive search, the Board says it believes that Latour is the best candidate to lead, grow, and support the Westfield Chamber and its growing membership base. He is a former CEO of a nationwide non-profit organization and foundation and most recently served as the Chief Housing Officer for Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity’s national house corporation.

Latour’s passion for the Chamber’s mission and proven track record as a brand and event management expert and fundraiser – along with his excellent reputation and relationships in the Westfield community – differentiated him from other candidates. He is currently the President-Elect of the Westfield Youth Assistance Program. As the new Executive Director of the Chamber, he will manage the day-to-day operations and delivery of programs, as well as work closely with Chamber members, the City of Westfield, and Hamilton County officials. He resides in Westfield and will serve as the fourth Chamber executive in its 39-year history.

“We are bringing someone to the team who is an innovative results-driven leader,” said Karen Keinsley, Westfield Chamber Board Chairperson and CPA with Slattery & Holman P.C. in Carmel. “Steve will successfully lead the Chamber and Board of Directors through the pandemic era and beyond ensuring that Westfield businesses continue to flourish and have access to education and resources they need for further success. I am confident we have someone who will help us evolve and be a strong advocate for community and business prosperity.”

A native of Berkley, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, Latour graduated in 2004 from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. Since then, Steve has held progressively responsible leadership positions with professional accomplishments, including leading a property acquisition process that added 24 properties to the company’s portfolio bumping revenue from $2 million to $10 million annually. He has led organization-wide strategic plan initiatives, corporate rebrands, and multi-million dollar building renovation projects. His experience in event management, volunteer engagement and marketing will be an asset to the Chamber as it looks to enhance its educational offerings and community engagement opportunities.

The Westfield Chamber of Commerce, a not-for-profit organization, is supported by a 15-member Board of Directors. This dynamic and robust volunteer board represents a cross-section of professionals from a variety of business sectors, each contributing their expertise to the development of community programs for Westfield. The Chamber exists to enhance the business, educational, recreational, spiritual and cultural development of the community through the participation of its business, professional and community members.

The Chamber currently has more than 450 members who enjoy the benefits of networking and town programs that support the needs of the businesses, as well as local non-profits and residents. The Chamber welcomes new members on an ongoing basis. Membership information can be found at westfield-chamber.org.
