Prevail, Inc. is proud to honor Officer Ben Lugar of the Noblesville Police Department as Prevail’s hero of the month for July.

Officer Lugar helped start NobleACT, a mental health crisis and substance abuse response program that both the Noblesville Police Department and Noblesville Fire Departments created. He can respond to the scene in these situations and focus on connecting people with services, while directing them away from the criminal justice system and unnecessary hospitalizations. He does not respond in a uniform in an effort to connect with people and to set him apart from patrol officers that may respond.
Prevail recently reached out to Officer Lugar when one of Prevail’s clients had hesitations about calling law enforcement after previously interacting with them. The client felt more comfortable with this interaction. Officer Lugar responded promptly and was happy to help in any way he could. His response was timely, informed, and supportive to the client’s goals.
With Officer Lugar’s help, the client was able to safely leave an abusive relationship and retrieve important belongings. Prevail is grateful for Officer Lugar’s willingness to assist clients and for his compassion and responsiveness.
