William “Bill” Day, 85, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020. He was born on August 24, 1934 to James and Bernice (Teter) Day in Hamilton County.
Bill was a 1953 graduate of Westfield High School, where he lettered in football. Prior to graduation, he joined the Naval Reserve where he was a member for eight years. Bill married Jerrilyn Freeman and they had two children, Sherri and Rick. Bill farmed, drove semis locally, and retired from Carmel Clay Schools in 1997 where he was a warehouseman and custodian. In 1976, he married Karen Wesley. Bill was a member of several Masonic organizations as well as associate member of Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association, Rock Steady Boxing PD4 class, and Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen; daughter, Sherri (Bruce) Kehoe, Indianapolis; son, Rick Day, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Nick (Ashley) Reed, Kacie (Andre) Forte, Cheaney Day and Emma Day; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Reed, Avianah Forte and Azaiah Forte; brothers, Donald (Mary Lou) Day and Dennis (Donna) Day; sister-in-law, Betty Day; former wife, Jerri Day; as well as several nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Day.
A private graveside service will be at Chester Friends Cemetery in Westfield. There will be a Celebration of Life at Pilgrim Lutheran Church at a later date. Bill’s care has been entrusted to Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes.
