Golden Eagles get comeback victory

Guerin Catholic staged a second-half comeback at Anderson on Tuesday, and that led the Golden Eagles to a 70-66 win in their regular-season finale.
Guerin led 19-15 after the first quarter, but the Indians took over in the second period, finishing the half with a 36-26 lead. Anderson held a 39-28 advantage early in the third, but the Golden Eagles soon began to chip away at the lead, getting within 47-46 by the end of the period. Guerin Catholic then scored 24 points in the fourth to get the win.
Bernie McGuinness poured in 27 points, making 13 of 14 free throw attempts. He also had seven rebounds. Joseph Bobilya was a perfect 4-of-4 from 3-point range on his way to 21 points. Kaleb Edwards collected 10 rebounds and Cameron Weitzel pulled six rebounds.
The Golden Eagles finished the regular season 15-7 and will play Brebeuf Jesuit next Tuesday in a first-round game at the Shortridge sectional.
