‘Picture a Better World’ at Hamilton North Public Library

All interested Hamilton County residents may enter the Hamilton North Public Library’s Friends of the Library photography contest Picture a Better World, beginning July 31. This annual competition features three divisions and three categories, with prizes in all categories.

Entries will be accepted between July 31 and Aug. 4 at Hamilton North Public Library – Cicero, during regular library hours. Photographs may be in color or black and white, no smaller than 8”x10” and mounted on mat board only. For more details on entry requirements and prizes, please pick up a brochure in the Cicero branch at 209 W. Brinton St.

This year’s contest features three divisions: Professional, Amateur and Junior. Within the amateur division are these categories: People, Places and Animals. The Junior division is subdivided into age groups: grades K–4, 5–8 and 9–12. Entries will be judged on Aug. 5, with best of show in all categories and first, second and third prizes in each division. On Aug. 6, winning photographs, along with all entries, will be featured during a special reception at 2 p.m. at HNPL – Cicero.

The contest, sponsored by HNPL’s Friends of the Library is open to all Hamilton county residents. Picture a Better World brochures are available at both the Atlanta and Cicero branches, but entries must be turned in at the Cicero branch.
