Noblesville Schools announced two new Noblesville High School (NHS) head coach appointments on Friday.
Aaron Becker has been named head girls cross country coach, replacing Dennis Scheele, and Anne Phillips steps in to the head volleyball spot, replacing former coach Jill Almodovar.
Becker, who has been serving as the girls assistant cross country coach, brings extensive personal running experience, including the completion of almost a dozen prestigious marathons and a 2007 state cross country finalist placement as a student runner. An eighth-grade science teacher at Noblesville West Middle School, Becker holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a secondary education certification from Indiana University.
Phillips brings to her new role experience as a club volleyball coach at Grand Park and Team Pineapple, as well as over 10 seasons of playing experience at the high school, club and college levels. A former NHS volleyball player, she holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Trine University and is a fourth-grade teacher at Stony Creek Elementary.
“We’re excited to welcome Aaron and Anne in these leadership roles,” said Leah Wooldridge, athletic director for NHS. “Their athletic experience and drive to serve students will be great additions to their programs and our athletes.”
