Hamilton Southeastern improved to 2-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference play Tuesday with a hard-fought, 51-45 win at Brownsburg.
It was a top 10 battle, with the Royals ranked No. 7 in Class 4A and the Bulldogs rated No. 8. Southeastern skipped off to a 22-13 lead after the first quarter, but Brownsburg cut that advantage to 31-26 by halftime. The Royals outscored Brownsburg 14-9 in the third period, and then held on in the fourth quarter for what HSE coach Chris Huppenthal called a “complete team win.”
Sydney Parrish scored 19 points, and reached double-double status with 12 rebounds. Jackie Maulucci and Lauren Morris both added 10 points, with Maulucci handing out four assists. Makayla Hinshaw collected six rebounds. All eight players that took to the court for Southeastern scored at least two points.
The Royals are 6-1 overall and host Carmel on Friday afternoon.
