‘Rocks hold off Pendleton Heights for first win

Westfield scored its first win of the season on Saturday, beating Pendleton Heights on the road 57-50.
The Shamrocks were in control in the first half, leading 17-10 in the first quarter and 31-18 at halftime. The Arabians blasted through the third period to take a 35-33 lead, but Westfield poured in 24 points in the fourth quarter to get the victory.
Ava Henson had an outstanding game, scoring 23 points. Alyssa Crockett added 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and pulled eight rebounds, dished out eight assists and blocked three shots.
The Shamrocks are 1-1 and next plays Friday at New Castle.
