When one has knowledge of positive, life changing programs, there is joy that comes with talking about these services to local organizations. Chris Sorensen, President/CEO of Janus Developmental Services, and Debbie Laird, SVP of Development at Janus Developmental Services, are frequent guest presenters at events throughout Hamilton County.

Sorenson and Laird recently spoke at the meeting of “Retirement Journey: Now What?” Sorenson presented an update on the many programs and services at Janus and why Janus is recognized as the partner of choice for individuals with disabilities, their families and our community. Laird reviewed the many volunteer opportunities at Janus including the Buddy Program, Doorways, Community Luncheons and Janus Golf & Batting Center. For more information on volunteering at Janus, contact Joanne McDonough at jmcdonough@janus-inc.org.

“Retirement Journey: Now What?” meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Fishers Library. This new service and support group is focused on assisting retirees to identify their passions, interests, and skills leading to their purpose or destiny in this next phase of their life journey. The goal of “Retirement Journey: Now What?” is to harness the experience and talents of retirees in serving the needs in Hamilton County. The group provides an outlet to establish new connections, form relationships, develop new interests, provide support, ways to serve others, and re-ignite a new purpose for retirees. Developing resources to meet needs and finding out what is key or central to each participant can be discovered through “Retirement Journey: Now What?” For more information, please contact Joe Grecu at joegrecu@sbcglobal.net.

If you would like for Chris Sorenson and Debbie Laird to speak at your organization’s meeting or event, please email Laird at dlaird@janus-inc.org.
