Carmel police officer arrested

On Tuesday, Carmel Police Officer Bryan Hood was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Hood has been employed as a police officer for the Carmel Police Department since 2000.

Hood was driving his personal vehicle. At approximately 9:34 p.m., he was stopped by officers from the Carmel Police Department for a traffic infraction in the area of City Center Drive and Range Line Road. Officers determined that he had been drinking and investigated further.

During the investigation, Hood submitted to a breath test and tested 0.19 percent BAC. He was taken to the Hamilton County Jail where he is being held.

Per standard procedure, Hood will be placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
