Volleyball: Royals sweep Harrison

The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team swept past Harrison 25-12, 25-7, 25-10 on Tuesday.
Delaney Garner blasted 17 kills, while Grace Hunter hit nine kills and collected nine digs. Carly Mills picked up 16 digs. Olivia Phillips handed out 17 assists and had six kills.
The Royals are 5-2 and travel to Avon on Thursday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference match.

Sheridan dropped a tough five-set match to Herron on Tuesday, 24-26, 11-25, 25-23, 25-20, 16-14.
Taylor Bates serves six aces and dished out six assists. Becca Merritt added eight kills and four solo blocks. Lillie Dickerson also made four solo blocks, while Allie Delph had four digs.
The Blackhawks junior varsity won its first match of the season, 25-23, 25-18. Kaiden Wilson had four aces, Jacquellynne Bates handed out four assists, Zoey Fisher hit four kills and Kayla Beahrs had six digs.

Carmel dropped its Metropolitan Conference opener to Center Grove on Tuesday, 25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22.
Macarty McQueen had 14 kills, five digs and one block. Gabby Smith added 11 kills, five blocks and two aces. Ella Bostic had 26 assists, six digs and two aces, while Anne Lesure provided 22 assists, 10 digs and five kills. Maria Zweig collected 18 digs.
