Carmel’s Haylin Harris qualified for the match play round of the USGA’s Women’s Amateur, which is taking place at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
Harris tied for 33rd place in stroke play; the top 64 players advance to match play. Harris carded a 73-72=145, one over par for the 36-hole stroke play event, with an even par score for the second round. She totaled three birdies over the 36 holes.
Harris will play Doey Choi of Australis in the first round of match play today. That match begins at 3:20 p.m. Eastern Time.
Westfield’s Jocelyn Bruch finished with a 78-75=153, nine over par for stroke play. (The cut was three over par.) Bruch had four birdies for her stroke play rounds.
