SERVE Noblesville and Noblesville Diversity Coalition (NDC) are partnering for the second annual Cultural Celebration to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 28 in downtown.
The free family-friendly event was created in 2018 to recognize Noblesville’s growing diversity. Nearly 20 booths will be set up around the square showcasing food, music, games and other traditions from around the world, including Puerto Rico, Kenya, Venezuela, Belgium, Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Jamaica, West Africa and more.
The Cultural Celebration is one way the organizations are working to create a culture that respects and values all individuals by promoting community efforts that celebrate the differences between cultures.
At the same time, the event honors the hard work of SERVE Noblesville’s volunteers who will be completing service projects throughout the community. Since its formation in 2012, SERVE Noblesville has engaged more than 4,100 volunteers to help with nearly 265 community projects.
“SERVE Noblesville is about more than just completing much-needed service projects – it’s about connecting neighbors and developing a stronger appreciation for each other,” said Senior Pastor Patrick Propst of Faith Community Church, who also is a member of the SERVE Noblesville executive planning committee and NDC.
“The Cultural Celebration is a wonderful opportunity to introduce neighbors from different cultures and to highlight the diversity and inclusion that are an important part of the Noblesville community,” added Propst.
