Guerin Catholic won an all-county softball game with Sheridan 5-0 on Monday.
Izzy Kemp got the Golden Eagles on the board with a three-run home run in the first inning. Ana Macha and Madelyn Buckner also scored.
In the second inning, Victoria Flores led off with a double, then Ana Macha batted her in with a center field hit. Kirsten Mascari got GC’s fifth run when she stole home in the fourth inning.
Macha and Flores both had two hits. Kemp pitched four innings for the win, striking out 11. Alicia Flores threw the other three innings, tossing eight strikeouts.
Taylor Bates had two hits for the Blackhawks, one of them a double. Addyson Ream threw eight strikeouts in four and a third innings of relief.
Sheridan rebounded to beat Tri-Central 15-1 in a five-inning game Tuesday at Biddle Park. The Blackhawks scored 11 runs in the first inning.
Emma Went and Ream both had three hits, with Katy Crail and Mia Brooks each getting two hits. Ream and Allie Delph each hit a two-RBI double in the first inning.
Ream pitched the complete game, tossing 12 strikeouts against two hits and no walks.
Both teams are back in action with home games today. Guerin Catholic is 9-5 and hosts Covenant Christian at 5:30 p.m. Sheridan is 4-3 and hosts Taylor at 5 p.m.
