Indiana American Water schedules open house for Sheridan customers

Indiana American Water has scheduled an open house for its customers in Sheridan. The company acquired the systems from the Town of Sheridan late last year and provides water and wastewater service to more than 2,500 customers, which represents a population of more than 3,000 residents.

The open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 29 at the Sheridan Community Center, 300 E. 6th St. Representatives from Indiana American Water will be on hand to meet with customers and provide details on a number of local initiatives, including its plans for infrastructure investment and operational enhancements for the systems, billing and payment options available to customers and the company’s plans to replace lead water service lines in Sheridan. Customers are encouraged to show up anytime during the two-hour period to learn more about the company’s plans. Refreshments will be served.

“We look forward to meeting with our new customers and sharing information on our plans for these systems,” said Indiana American Water Senior Operations Superintendent Ryan Smith. “We have already made several improvements to our operations here and have additional plans moving forward to further upgrade the community’s water and wastewater infrastructure while, at the same time, providing future rate stability and helping the Town of Sheridan to address other pressing needs in the community.”

The acquisition of the Sheridan water and wastewater systems for approximately $10.75 million was approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in September and closed by Indiana American Water and the Town of Sheridan on Dec. 17, 2018.
