According to event organizer Scott Cranfill, approximately 650 runners turned out for the fourth annual Noblesville Mini Marathon Saturday morning at Hare Chevrolet Field, just northeast of the Boys and Girls Club of Noblesville Community Center. The event was presented by Hare Chevrolet and Riverview Health.

When The Reporter asked Cranfill what it took to put this event together, his answer was, “A lot of help.”

That perspective was reflected by Riverview Health President and SEO Seth Warren, who said, “It’s all Becky Terry and the Boys and Girls Club. We provide financial support and moral support, but they do all the work.”

This is Warren’s second year being involved in the mini marathon. He began his duties as president and CEO 13 months ago.

“This is our fourth year for the event and we work on it throughout the year getting volunteers, sponsors, working with the Noblesville Police Department and making sure all the roads are safe and secured for the participants,” Cranfill told The Reporter.

Hare Chevrolet and Riverview both are title sponsors for the event.

“When they came to us and talked about doing this, we thought, from a wellness perspective, it aligned very nicely with our mission,” Warren said.

Warren said Riverview sees itself as the Hamilton County hospital.

“We view ourselves and THE healthcare provider for Hamilton County and that’s in terms of, treating, but also the wellness perspective, which is why we are aligned with this,” Warren said. “We view our mission as keeping people healthy—keeping people ahead of the curve in terms of disease and injury. We do a lot of wellness seminars.”

In fact, there are two seminars coming to Riverview Health this June. From 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 they will hold a diabetes seminar at 395 Westfield Road, Noblesville, focusing on managing the condition. Then, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, there will be a women’s health and wellness seminar located at 601 Westfield Road. Details on both are available online at riverview.org/classes.

“We are going to be expanding in having a second campus now in Westfield,” Warren said. “We want to continue to serve Hamilton County so we are expanding to grow with it.”

The Westfield campus should open near the end of 2017 at US 31 and SR 32.
