On Jan. 14, local business owner and former journalist Adam Aasen officially filed as a Republican candidate for Carmel City Council’s southeast district.
The southeast district includes Carmel’s boundaries east of Keystone Avenue and south of 126th Street, except between Keystone and Gray Road, where the border goes up to Main Street.
The seat was previously held by City Councilor Jeff Worrell who filed at-large for the 2019 election.
Adam lives in Eden Village neighborhood with his wife Nicole and newborn daughter Madeline.
“We’re excited to raise our daughter in one of the best cities in the United States,” Aasen said. “Carmel has top-ranked schools. It’s safe. Taxes are low. The city supports the arts and the parks are great. If elected, I hope to continue the progress of the last 20 years while planning responsibly for the next 20.”
