The Noblesville Parks and Recreation Department will begin offering a variety of new programs beginning Monday, Oct. 22. Topics range from creative fun for the little ones and outdoor fall activities to classes designed for active adults.
“As fall approaches, we are excited to offer new and seasonal programming for all ages,” said Recreation Director Nichole Haberlin-Medaris. “From families with young children with our ‘Littles’ program to our new Oasis classes for adults, we encourage all residents to get out and enjoy the cooler weather or try a new class this fall.”
Little Pumpkins and Little Turkeys
Bring your little one for seasonal themed fun. Each program will celebrate the season with crafts, games and fun activities with a fall pumpkin theme in October and turkey theme in November. Registration is required. The events are for ages 2 to 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 31 and Nov. 14 in the Forest Park Lodge Basement. Cost is $10 (resident) and $12 (non-resident).
Fireside Fun
Bring your family for a fun night at the fireside in Forest Park. We will have a campfire, corn hole and candy apple bar at Shelter No. 5. Participants are welcome to drop in any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 and are asked to bring a light for the flashlight scavenger hunt. There is no admittance fee for this event.
Teen Enrichment
This class will prep your teen for the workforce with advice on their job application, resume building and interviews. For ages 15 to 18 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Recreation Annex. Cost is $50.
Oasis Lifelong Adventure
Join our partners at Oasis for healthy aging and lifelong learning programs for active adults. Classes and times are available at oasisindy.org. Programs will be held in the Recreation Annex Costs depend on the class and range from free to $40.
Stress Relief Hike
Participants will take a light hike, discuss stress relieving techniques and learn tips on how to be more mindful and how to cope with stress. All ages welcome from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Forest Park Shelter No. 5. Cost is $3.
Bird Watching Drop-In (All Ages)
Drop-in anytime during the program from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at Forest Park Lodge to learn about the birds that are staying in Indiana for the winter, discuss what types of food is best for them and create a simple craft. Cost is $5 per person.
Ballroom Basics
Perfect for adults new to Ballroom dancing or for anyone wanting to brush up on their fundamentals. Class will focus on partner connection, lead and follow techniques, and beginner dance patterns for several dance styles. Classes are 8 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 22 through Nov. 26 at Forest Park Inn. Cost is $51 (residents) and $59 (nonresidents).
Beginner/Intermediate Ballroom
This class is for adults who have had some ballroom dance experience, or who have completed the Ballroom Basics class. Focus will be on beginner/intermediate dance patterns, while continuing to develop and improve partners’ connection and lead and follow techniques. Classes are 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 22 through Nov. 26 at Forest Park Inn. Cost is $51 (residents) and $59 (nonresidents).
