Geraldine (Gerry) Williams Latham

February 21, 1926 – October 12, 2018

Geraldine (Gerry) Williams Latham, Noblesville, was called home on October 12, 2018, at Harbor Manor following a very full life. She was born February 21, 1926, in Marshall, Ind., the daughter of Oran J. and Nellie G. Williams.

Gerry graduated from Kokomo High School with the class of 1944 and earned her BA in music from William Penn College in 1948. Soon after she married Everett L. Latham on June 6, 1948. They lived for a short time in Russiaville before making their home in Noblesville in 1951. Gerry taught English at Noblesville Junior High for several years. She earned her MA from Butler University in library science and became the librarian at the junior high and finally at North Elementary. In retirement she and Everett enjoyed over 20 winters in southern Texas. Gerry was an excellent pianist and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a very active member of Noblesville Friends Church, United Society of Friends Women and American Association of University Women.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Carol (Gordon) Bowles, Tampa, Fla.; Douglas (JoAnn) Latham, Bellevue, Iowa; and Debra (Clark) Johnson, Oskaloosa, Iowa; her eight grandchildren: Geoff (Lisa) Bowles, Erin (Jeff) Reynolds, Jessica (Chad) Witter, Gina (Dan) Sargent, Tom Blitgen, Tiffany (Brian) Cue, Grant Johnson and Meredith (Dominick) Moyer; her nine great-grandchildren: Millen and Pierce Reynolds, Shelby Sargent, Cole and Luke Witter, Ethan and Estella Cue, Vivianne and Theodore Moyer; and dear friend: Bob Minton.

Gerry was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; a sister, Hazel Crowe; two brothers, Estel Williams and Verne Williams; and close friend, Scarlett Minton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Noblesville Friends Church with Rev. Rick Schoeff officiating. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday with family present to greet friends and relatives.
