Janus Developmental Services announces the following outstanding service accomplishments since April 2025 regarding its Hamilton County Express (HCE) transportation program.
Through the very generous gift of $25,000 from Duke Energy, along with additional funding from Hamilton County government, Janus was able to acquire a new software system, Spare, with the goal of improving services. Invest Hamilton County also provided initial consultation on the program.
These improvements have been dramatic, with the following areas seeing vast improvements:
- Requests for rides are up 30 percent
- Ride denials are down from 15 percent to 2.5 percent
- Customer Satisfaction is currently rated 99 percent (from data acquired through the HCE Rides app)
Furthermore, Janus staff report significant improvements with efficiency and ease of use. HCE Senior Transportation Manager Ben Platz reports tremendous satisfaction from his staff as they use the Spare software on a daily basis.
In addition to Platz, Transportation Manager Teresa Franklin and Senior Director of Finance and Business Improvement Mark Smith provide daily leadership for HCE, as well as providing significant efforts regarding the execution of the Spare program.
