October 11, 1949 – October 8, 2026

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Danny “Dan” L. Morris on October 8, 2026, just shy of his 77th birthday. Born on October 11, 1949, in Noblesville, Dan was known for his loving nature, supportive spirit, unyielding loyalty, and dedicated service to his community and family. He was a lifelong resident of Arcadia, where he was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Dan graduated high school from Hamilton Heights and shortly after joined the United States Navy. Dan was a man of many passions. He was a major supporter of Hamilton Heights Athletics and an ardent IU Hoosier fan. He loved camping, especially at the White River Campground, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like swinging on his front porch with his beloved dog, Sassy. In his youth, Dan raced stock cars, a testament to his adventurous spirit. His dedication led him to serve as a school bus driver at Hamilton Heights for over 40 years, a job he loved dearly.
Dan was widowed, having been married to his beloved wife, Terry Morris, on September 22, 1972. He was a devoted father to his sons, Troy (Jackie Hayden) and Patrick (Leslie) Morris. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Penny (John) Bringle, and several loving nieces and nephews, and his bonus grandchildren, Kaylee, Kamryn, Hayden, Jordyn, and Charley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Morris; his parents, Alonzo and Florence Morris; and his brother, Darrell Huse. Above all, what mattered most to Dan was his family, to whom he gave his unyielding love and support.
The visitation for Dan will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jody Brown officiating. Both will take place at the Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero. The family has requested that all who attend please feel free to join them in wearing your favorite Hamilton Heights gear to remember Dan’s passion and dedication to Hamilton Heights Athletics and School Corporation.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Hamilton Heights High School girls’ volleyball, basketball, or softball teams. Donations can be made at the funeral home during Dan’s services or mailed to Hamilton Heights High School Athletics, Attn: Kurt Ogden, c/o Danny Morris, 25802 State Road 19, Arcadia, IN, 46030.
Dan will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We encourage those who knew Dan to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page, as a tribute to his life and legacy.
