What better way to tap into the Halloween Spirit than through a family-friendly night of fall festivities? On Saturday, Oct. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m., Clay Terrace, 14390 Clay Terrace Blvd., Carmel, will hold its annual Boo ‘n Brew Fall Festival, which will feature renowned pumpkin-carver Eric Jones.
The Reporter spoke with Christine Foulke, Marketing & Events Manager at Clay Terrace, about the 14th annual festival.
According to Foulke, Boo ‘n Brew started off as a community trick-or-treating event.
“We wanted to drive foot traffic to the center,” Foulke said, “but also be known as a place for community gatherings where people feel safe, where they can hang out, and see what else we have going on here.”
Foulke told The Reporter the trick-or-treating is the main attraction of the event.
“We have youngsters coming in costume, trick or treating with their parents or family,” she said.

Foulke said children will also have the chance to enjoy an educational Silly Safari show. She said in years past Silly Safari showcased a variety of animals from reptiles to eagles.
According to Foulke, Boo ‘n Brew doesn’t exclusively cater to children. Clay Terrace will bring in Upland Brewing, Field Brewing, and Bier Brewery to curate a “family-friendly beer garden.”
This year the event will welcome acclaimed pumpkin-carver Eric Jones. He is a 2023 Guinness World Record Holder, Winner of Food Network’s Outrageous Pumpkins, and a finalist in Food Network’s Halloween Wars. Community members have the chance to watch Jones in action as he carves pumpkins during the entire event.
Foulke said families can engage with an assortment of additional activities like hay-riding, pumpkin decorating, a corn maze, and a pet costume contest. While families enjoy the festivities, local bands Jam Box and Toy Factory will perform.
“[The bands] bring the energy and kind of set the mood for the whole event, and you can hear the music all throughout the center,” Foulke said.

Foulke said she knows there are always numerous events hosted for families year-round.
“We truly appreciate people coming back year after year,” she said. “We talked to families each year, they say they’ve been coming since their kids were babies and now their kids are 7.”
According to Foulke, Boo ‘n Brew has become an annual event for a lot of people, and Clay Terrace “enjoys putting it on for the people who love it.”
