Bright Smile Dental Care of Fishers notified of security breach

Bright Smile Dental Care, Ltd., 9931 Eller Road, Fishers, recently became aware of a ransomware security incident that potentially involved patients’ personal information.

An investigation determined that the affected data was encrypted, and Bright Smile believes there is a low likelihood that any of the data was compromised. Out of caution, however, Bright Smile is providing notice of the incident.

Information that may have been involved included patient names, dates of birth, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, insurance information, information about dependents, health information, and in some cases, social security numbers.

Bright Smile has notified potentially affected individuals, is implementing additional security measures, and is offering complimentary credit monitoring services to individuals whose social security numbers may have been involved.
