As another summer wraps up, Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad recognizes two excellent employees for their customer service and dedication to the operation with scholarships to assist them as they pursue further education.
For the second year in a row, Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad presents The Toni Dickover Heart of Service Scholarship and The Brett Morrow Next Generation Scholarship. These scholarships were created to honor two past board members as they left their board service.
About the scholarship winners
The Toni Dickover Heart of Service Scholarship recognizes a Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad employee who exemplifies a passion and heart for serving their community and helping others. This year’s scholarship winner is to Audrey Saldivar.
Drake Lockwood is the winner of the 2026 Brett Morrow Next Generation Scholarship, which is presented to an employee who is aiming to grow their skillset in a non-traditional way. Lockwood, an important member of the Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad staff, is using the scholarship winnings to continue his passion for Emergency Medical Services.
Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad is proud to give back to the staff members who have contributed to the success of the operation in the hopes that they will continue to provide this same level of service to their community. Congratulations to this year’s winners.
