On Tuesday, Sept. 15, a bench trial commenced where Kenneth Guy faced a single charge of Dealing in a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death.
In this case, the Westfield Police Department (WPD) responded to a call of an unresponsive male on Jan. 27, 2026, and suspected a drug overdose based on evidence at the scene. Through a complex investigation, the WPD Special Investigations Unit identified Guy as the source of the drugs that killed the victim.
After two days of evidence, the Judge found Guy guilty of Dealing in a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death. Guy will be sentenced on Dec. 1, 2026. Dealing a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death is a Level 1 felony with a prison sentence of 20 to 40 years.
